When I graduated VCE, I was shocked at my English results. I was a self-proclaimed ‘maths and science student’ - far from an ‘English student’ who’d eventually score a 45, placing me in the top 2% of the cohort. I knew at that point that I had to share my strategies with others. If I could do it, anyone could.
That’s why over the past 10 years, LSG has strived to create quality resources across all formats - from blogs to YouTube videos - so that we can help you, no matter what style of learning you prefer.
WE ADVOCATE FOR EASY-TO-UNDERSTAND TEACHING.
We give advice that’s simple, but effective. You might know that I steer students away from stuffing their essays with complex vocabulary. That’s because writing shouldn’t need to *sound* complex. Clear and succinct information sings on its own, and you’ll notice that all LSG resources lead by example (which is why students love our resources)!
Communication is also the lifeblood of LSG behind-the-scenes. We have a remote team (yes, we get to work in our PJs!), so ensuring we can deliver high-quality work demands great communication across our team.
Design isn’t just about beautiful branding and illustrations (both of which we have 😉). Good design priorities our users - how you experience LSG’s customer service, how you use our products, and dictates what content we should produce next.
Good design speaks volumes about LSG’s methodology, approach and execution of our work.
We’ve helped thousands of students, tutors, teachers and parents through our work and it’s something we’re extremely proud of. For those who don’t have money to access resources, we’ve created hundreds of resources - all available for free.
We hope that our work here continues to impact not only Victorians (where we’re based), but Australian students, and also international students (USA, China, and Africa, just to name a few)!
As a millennial and Gen Z company our impact isn’t just about the work, but also how we support the community. We believe in 🌱 sustainability and giving back through charity. I purchased The Queen vs Ransom study guide at Lisa's Study Guides after a while wondering if I should or not. and yes I'm glad i did! it helps me a lot in staying organised and understanding the texts better. It is absolutely worth buying guide! will def buy another one next time.
I have been tutored VCE English by a fantastic tutor who explains essay structures and texts learnt in school very clearly and I have seen an increasing trend in my English results. Lisa's videos are also very helpful explaining texts and essay structures in detail. I strongly recommend :)

I was Peggy's English 3/4 tutoring student. Peggy is the BEST English tutor any high school student can ask for! Her extraordinary expertise and tutoring skills only make up a part of why she is amazing. She pours her heart and soul into supporting me academically and emotionally. She was also a powerful motivator in getting me to improve and become a better person. When you are tutored by her, you'll know that she doesn't tutor for the money, but rather because she genuinely wants you to reach your potential and do the best you can in your studies.

During the year my friends and I were struggling with the English content, we were still getting B’s but still struggling. Coming up to our English exam, which we were all stressed about, I cane across Lisa’s YouTube videos explaining Frankenstein, Year of Wonders and The Crucible. Since then, we never turned back, watching the every night until we felt ready. Coming out of the exam we all felt so happy and so relaxed, it wasn’t due to our teacher as she never really taught us much (I’m being serious), it was because of these videos!! Thank you for all your help!!
Lisa's Study Guides has been my go-to for videos and in depth explanations for English and general life tips. I have been watching Lisa's YouTube videos for a long time now and really appreciate all her work. She is a true inspiration and highly recommend for anyone who wants in-depth videos that are creative and will definitely help you achieve your goals :)

LSG's English tutoring is the best! My tutor, Kira, always brings the most insightful ideas to our sessions and has consistently helped me to consolidate my foundation in essay writing skills, which I found very helpful leading up to assessments and ultimately the exam. She is an incredible tutor! I also have found the ample resources in LSG to be extremely useful when I was still studying texts-- they definitely helped me understand the texts more in depth. Definitely recommend!
Lisa's Study Guides gave a presentation to students and parents. It was informative with some great advice and tips. Lisa was clear and related to the audience extremely well. Lisa's Study Guides is INCREDIBLE!!! As I have learnt from watching all of Lisa's YouTube videos, Lisa is devoted to helping VCE English students achieve success! She takes so much care in delivering excellent content in her videos and summary guides such as 'How to write a Killer Essay' and the Essentials and Advanced English guides. This year I was very determined to achieve a high result in English. At my school, it is rare to have kids crack the 40s for English, but, I am thrilled to say that with LSG's resources I was able to achieve a 45!!!! The sample essays in her books and thorough but easy to understand explanation helped me to improve my writing skills. I highly recommend LSG!
Lisa's Study Guides have been really helpful for my VCE, I highly recommend to anyone who wishes to study more in-depth with English, many of the materials and sample essay isn't being repeatedly mentioned in other sources. Also, I love watching Lisa' youtube videos, very informative and fun!

Despite the few hiccups regarding covid-19, I have had an amazing experience at Lisa's Study Guides. With the help of my amazing tutor Fern, she has provided me with constant feedback and as well as resources that are improving my essay-writing skills as well as my understanding of the book.
