Hi, I’m Trinity and I am available as an EAL tutor. I am currently studying law and commerce in Monash. I am fluent in both English and Cantonese and can write in Chinese. I love writing, whether it is analytical, legal or creative writing. I am also a huge book nerd.
English was difficult at first, for someone who had lived in Hong Kong all my life until Year 10. Yet, it is a prerequisite for many non-language-based university courses such as science and engineering. Thankfully, my love for reading provides me with analytical skills good enough to cover my limited vocabulary. Despite overcoming my language barrier, I notice insufficient learning resources for international and EAL students is still a prevalent issue in schools. A student in my high school specifically reached out to me because she was struggling in EAL classes. As a result, I wish to share my knowledge with all students, especially EAL students or those who do not enjoy language subjects but are forced to do EAL/English since it’s mandatory. As your EAL tutor, I hope to prove to you that you don’t have to be gifted or a native speaker to excel in VCE.
